Every necklace here is the same piece: about 180 beads wrapped by hand in printed mulberry silk over wooden cores, on a 44-inch loop with no clasp. The silk is the hand screen-printed cloth our scarves are cut from, so each bead shows a different fragment. The color is what you choose.

What the print is
Each motif comes from Ly and Tran Dynasty art of the 11th to 15th century. Our studio redraws it by hand from archive photographs, and every color gets a separate screen. Once the cloth is cut into strips for wrapping, the design survives as fragments on each bead.
That is why the necklaces look like textured color from a distance and like drawing up close, and why no two beads, or two necklaces, are exactly alike.

Why $75 each
The cloth is hand screen-printed before it is cut into strips. Then about 180 beads are wrapped and knotted by hand. No metal or stone.
Our plain silk necklaces cost $64, without the print. All of them are made in our Hanoi atelier and shipped direct.
Will they arrive for the holidays?
1 to 3 business days of preparation in Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days of transit.
For Christmas delivery in the US, we recommend ordering by November 27.
Duties and returns
Duties: we pay the US import duty on every order.
Returns: 30 days, unused and unworn, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is yours. Store credit adds 15%.
Sending several at once
Every order arrives gift boxed. For a separate box and bag for each person, add a gift box and bag set for each. Sending to different addresses means separate orders, and an order under $90 ships for $20.
