A thesis submitted, a launch shipped, a year of evenings spent on one project. Moments like that usually pass with one dinner and a quiet weekend. A turquoise silk necklace is a way of keeping a small record of it.
Printed mulberry silk, the cloth our scarves are made of, is hand wrapped around every bead, so each shows a different part of the print. About 180 over wooden cores, 44 inches around, no clasp.
We pay the import duty, not you.
Dispatched from Hanoi in 1 to 3 business days, delivered to US addresses in 9 to 15 business days. Shipping is $20 under $90 and free from $90. Add a $15 horn scarf ring and this order reaches $90.
Why turquoise, and why printed
Turquoise is a color people tend to choose for themselves rather than receive. It is clear and cool, it sits well with white, navy, tan and black, and it looks like a decision.
The print gives it a second layer. Behind it is a motif from Ly and Tran Dynasty art, drawn again in our studio from archive photographs and screened color by color. On each bead a scrap of the drawing shows, so the strand reads as texture from afar and as drawing up close.
It is a piece for someone who notices detail, which, if you just finished something that long, describes you.

Is it real silk?
Yes, mulberry silk, hand screen-printed, then wrapped around each wooden bead by hand.

Why $75
Printing and wrapping, both by hand. The silk passes through one screen per color before it is cut; then each of roughly 180 beads is covered and knotted on.
Plain silk necklaces are $64 because they skip the press. There is no metal or stone in either. We make them in our own atelier in Hanoi and ship direct.
When will it arrive?
1 to 3 business days in the atelier, 9 to 15 business days between Hanoi and your mailbox.
If you want it for a graduation or a party, allow 18 business days, about three and a half weeks.
Duties and returns
Duties: we pay the US import duty.
Returns: 30 days, unused and unworn, in the original box. You pay return postage on a change of mind. Store credit gives you 15% more.

It comes gift boxed either way. If it is going to someone else, their address goes in shipping, yours in billing, and your message in Order Notes to be written by hand on a card. No price in the parcel.
