Dragon of Grace: the dragon as a pattern
This is the same Ly Dynasty dragon that was carved at Hanoi's imperial citadel, drawn small and repeated in symmetry around a center, with carved borders, bodhi leaves and a lotus pedestal.
Repeated that way, it reads as an even, worked surface instead of a single picture. On a small garment like a tank, the print looks right however the fabric falls.
The Vietnamese name, May Hoa Long An, holds the idea: An is grace that is granted, not power that is held.

Is it real silk?
Yes, 100% mulberry silk. It is printed in Hanoi the way our scarves are.
