The dragon on navy, and why it is a gentle one
Dragon Dreams comes from the dragon carved into the stone of Hoang Thanh Thang Long, the imperial citadel in Hanoi begun in 1010. Ly Dynasty dragons have no scales and three claws. The body bends like a river, with a pearl at the mouth and a crest of flame.
On the forehead sits a small S-shaped mark, the old character for thunder. In a rice-growing country thunder brings rain, and rain brings the harvest. So the dragon is a wish for a good year, not a show of force.
The motif is drawn as a picture with open ground around it. On a wide leg that space matters: the print has room, so the trousers look considered rather than busy. Navy is the calmest ground we print it on.
Where they go
On a long flight Elastic waist, loose leg, a white T-shirt or a fine knit on top. Nothing to adjust between the gate and the hotel.
At dinner A black top and simple sandals or heels. Let the trousers carry the outfit and keep everything else plain.

A palazzo leg takes a great deal of cloth, and all of it here is mulberry silk printed by hand, one screen and one pass for every color. Then the print is matched across the panels of each leg.
Every pair is then cut to order and sewn in our own Hanoi atelier. Import duty is on us. The listed $288 is the full cost to you; made to measure adds 10% on top.
Will they arrive in time for a trip?
Standard size: 1 to 3 business days in Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to a US address. Allow up to 18 business days, about three and a half weeks.
Made to measure: add 3 to 5 business days of tailoring before dispatch.
What if they do not fit?
Standard size: return within 30 days, unworn and unwashed, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is yours, and store credit adds 15%.
Made to measure: outside the 30-day return, and one complimentary alteration is included instead.
Buying them for someone else
Trousers are harder to give than a scarf, but a one-size elastic waist makes them easier than most. Check her waist and hip against the measurements above. If you cannot, a navy Dragon Dreams scarf needs no size at all.

How to care for silk trousers
Dry cleaning is recommended. Tell the cleaner it is silk.
If you wash them yourself, hand wash in cold water, never in a machine, and dry them in the shade.
