Navy silk for the days that ask for quiet confidence.
A Ly Dynasty dragon she will wear every week.

Picture it on a gray morning, knotted at the collar of a camel coat, the dragon surfacing from the navy each time she turns her head at the crosswalk. Some colors wait for an occasion; this one becomes the silk head scarf and neck knot she reaches for on an ordinary weekday, and it makes the ordinary feel considered.

A 26-inch square of mulberry silk in deep navy, printed by hand with a Ly Dynasty dragon drawn from eleventh-century stonework in Hanoi. At sixteen momme, with all four sides hemmed by hand, it takes two seconds to tie and keeps its shape until evening.

We pay the import duty, not you.

Nothing owed on arrival, nothing added at checkout. Shipping is $20, free from $90. Sent from Hanoi, most US orders land in 9 to 15 business days.

Buying this for someone else? Two things before you read any further: it ships from Hanoi, so allow 9 to 15 business days to a US address, and it arrives gift boxed with your note written by hand and no price anywhere in the parcel. Everything that follows is about wearing it, and the gift section waits further down.

Navy, and everything it befriends

Denim Navy on blue denim looks like a decision, a tone-on-tone ease that black never quite manages.

Camel, tan, oatmeal A navy square at the neck of a camel coat is a whole outfit, and a pairing that returns gracefully every autumn.

A white shirt Polished enough for the office and still full of life, the look people mean when they say she always seems put together.

Gray, charcoal, black Navy sits beside all three without competing, and it softens black in a way black cannot manage alone.

Unsure of her taste? Navy is the gentlest choice we print, a ground that settles into any wardrobe it arrives in. If the day itself should feel like a celebration, Red brings that sense of occasion, while navy keeps everything beautifully calm.

Same size, other colorways: Orange and Dark Green · Green and Yellow · Red · Pink and Turquoise

What the screen cannot show you

Draw it out of the tissue and the navy spills across your palm, heavier and softer than the screen promised. It is a protein fiber, spun by the Bombyx mori silkworm, with a softness and a weight that polyester, made from oil, cannot imitate.

Then comes the way it moves. At sixteen momme it falls in one piece and settles where you place it, and a knot holds through a commute, a meeting and a dinner without a single adjustment.

Within the hour she forgets she is wearing it, until someone across the table leans in to admire it.

Details that make it the everyday square

01
Weight that holds a knot

The cloth has enough body for a knot to settle and lock, so it stays exactly where you tied it from the morning meeting to the late train home.

02
Four accessories in one

Hair, neck, bag and wrist, with no clasp or ring to match and nothing that asks for one particular outfit.

03
Navy printed on both faces

A deep ground shows every fold, so the reverse matters as much as the front. Both faces here carry the same ink at the same depth, and every fold looks as finished as the open square.

Test the silk at home

In every box you will find a cutting from the same bolt as your square, so the test below can be made on that small piece. We include it because we are glad for you to check.

Mulberry silk Polyester
The smell Singed hair Acrid, like plastic
What is left Soft ash that crushes between your fingers Melts into a hard bead

If you try it: over a sink, clear of anything that can catch, not with children in the room. A corner is enough. It is a home check, not lab proof.

Rather not hold a flame to anything? The silk is tested at the Textile Testing Center, part of the Vietnam Textile Research Institute. Outside lab, outside paperwork.

The story behind $97

The $18 one is polyester, and although a photograph flatters it, your hand will tell the two apart in a moment.

Every step is handwork. The hem is rolled by hand, close to an hour of work for the 260 centimeters around this square, and printing both faces sends the cloth through the press twice. An artist in our studio draws the motif out of the archive, and we make the whole square in our own atelier in Hanoi and send it straight to you, which is how it comes to $97. Worn every week for five years, it works out to under forty cents a wear, against $9 a wear for the $18 one worn twice.

What size silk scarf should I buy?
22"

22 in → Bag handle, wrist, narrow twilly roll · $75
26 in Headband, ponytail, neck knot this one
36 in → Full head wrap, sleep wrap, all the 26 does · $153
44 in → Shoulder wrap, and the only size the whole composition fits on · $197

First one? Take the 26. It is the only square that does hair and neck equally well. Navy is printed in all four sizes.

Getting it there in time

If there is a date attached to this, it is worth reading before you order.

Nine to fifteen business days to a US address, counted from the day it leaves Hanoi.

For Christmas delivery in the US, we recommend ordering by November 27.

Ship it straight to her. Sending it to yourself first and forwarding it adds a week you do not need to spend. We write your note by hand and there is no price anywhere in the parcel.

If the date is fixed, write to us at Folkformint@gmail.com before you order.

Which motif should I be looking at?

Each of our motifs speaks to a different occasion, and the simplest way to choose is by the person who will open the box.

Buying for an achievement A promotion, a milestone, a leader, a corporate gift: a dragon suits the moment, and we draw two. Here four large dragons hold the corners and turn toward a bodhi leaf at the center, one picture across the whole square; Dragon of Grace repeats the same Ly Dynasty creature smaller in center symmetry, a finely worked surface with the same meaning.

Buying for a person, about who they are A mother, a new chapter, a recovery, a woman you want to celebrate for herself: Phoenix Dance, the empress's bird beside the dragon's emperor, carved in temples as a sign of peace and prosperity.

Buying for a couple For a wedding, an engagement or an anniversary, Lotus Serenade sets two mandarin ducks beneath a lotus, a wish for a marriage that holds.

“I love these, but I would never know how to tie one”

There is no trick to it and nothing to memorize, no pins and no rings. Stand at a mirror, follow the steps below, and each of these four takes less than a minute.

The headband Fold it from corner to corner, roll it into a soft band and tie it at the nape with the tails tucked away.

The ponytail wrap Wind it twice around the elastic, knot it on top and let the navy ends fall down her back.

The neck knot Fold a triangle, roll it, wrap once, then tie a loose knot slid a little off center; over a white shirt it is the entire look.

The bag roll Roll it slim and wind it up the handle to a small bow, where it waits on the days it is not at her neck.

Her box also holds an illustrated guide with more than twenty other ways to tie it.

Using it as a sleep wrap

For shorter or finer hair this 26-inch square is enough to wrap at night, and for long, thick or tightly coiled hair the 36 inch gives more cloth to twist and tuck. Our guide to which size to choose sets the four sizes side by side.

“Is this too much for somebody like me?”

Navy is the gentle answer to that question. A printed square can look bold on a screen and wears quietly in life, and knotted small over a plain shirt it reads as considered, the kind of detail people notice without being able to name.

Buying this as a gift?

With a gift, the worry is always taste, and navy puts that worry to rest: it sits happily beside nearly everything she already owns.

Ten years from now it will still hang in her wardrobe, and each time her hand passes over it she will think of you. What we keep gathers meaning with the years, long after the price is forgotten.

And it gives her something lovely to say. When a colleague compliments it, her answer is ready: it is a Ly Dynasty dragon, my daughter found it.

For Mother's Day She has spent twenty years telling you not to spend money on her, which is exactly why this will move her: something she would never buy herself, already boxed, from a place she will want to hear about. If she is more phoenix than dragon, Phoenix Dance was drawn for her.

For Christmas, or a graduation Navy carries her through the interview, the new office and every year after, and she will remember who gave it to her each time she ties it.

For an anniversary Jewelry is expected and measured against last year; silk arrives as a surprise, and she will wear it to the dinner you booked.

If the gift is for a couple For a wedding or an anniversary, Lotus Serenade is the motif made for two. And if she would like a square large enough to wrap her whole head, choose the 36-inch.

The dragon of the Thang Long citadel

Hoang Thanh Thang Long, the imperial citadel at the center of Hanoi, was begun in 1010. The dragon cut into its stonework is a gentle creature, curving like moving water with its head raised, a pearl held at its mouth and a flame crest behind, and it carries a hope for rain, full rivers and a harvest brought safely in.

Bodhi leaves and lotus circle him. In our studio every motif is redrawn by hand from archive photographs and divided into screens, then printed panel by panel in Hanoi, one color and one pass at a time.

Should she want the longer story, our guide explains what the Dragon Dreams motif means and how it differs from the phoenix and the lotus.

The box, the care, and the returns

In the box A rigid gift box and matching bag · the square folded in tissue · a story card naming the motif and its dynasty · an illustrated styling guide · a care card · the silk cutting. Nothing left for you to wrap. Sending it straight to her? We write your note by hand and keep the price out of the parcel.

Washing Easier than people fear, and less often. Silk sheds dust on its own, so every three to five wears is plenty. Cold water, shampoo or body wash rather than laundry detergent. Squeeze, never wring or twist. Dry in shade, never in sun. Iron on the lowest silk setting while still faintly damp. Dark grounds hold their depth for years treated this way.

Returns Thirty days from delivery, unused and unwashed, in the original box. If the fault is ours, a flaw in the silk, a print error, a seam that has failed, postage goes both ways on us and you get a replacement or a full refund. Changed your mind? Thirty days, return postage yours, and if you take store credit instead of a refund we add fifteen percent. One condition: it comes back unused, unwashed and unworn, in its original box.

A precious gem symbolizing an ancient culture, where tradition and modern creativity converge to create a refined and meaningful beauty.

  • Inspiration Behind The Dragon Dreams

Inspired by thousand-year history of Thăng Long Citadel, "Dragon Dreams" is recreated from the original artifacts such as dragon of Ly Dynasty, the curved rooflines with Xi Van - the Roof guardian of imperial architecture, Bodhi leaves from the flourishing Buddhist era and the iconic lotus pedestal of the 11th-14th centuries… recreating a mystical realm between reality and dream, past and present, where sacred dragons unite on the scarves of our time.

  • The Essence of The Dragon Dreams

"Dragon Dreams" print on silk scarves recreates the Ly Dynasty Dragon in a spiral composition converging toward the Lotus Throne. The border features pairs of Xi Van, ancient roof guardians protecting against fire, enclosing a mystical sky of swirling clouds, bodhi leaves, and lotus flowers. With graceful lines and harmonious colors, these scarves breathe new life into heritage, honoring Vietnamese culture on its journey to the world.

1. Mulberry Silk Products

1.1 Is silk environmentally friendly? How can I distinguish silk from other artificial silk fabrics?

Silk is a completely natural fiber with a production process that does not require the use of chemicals for bleaching or fiber processing. Therefore, silk is not only environmentally friendly but also gentle on the skin.

Distinguishing natural silk from synthetic silk fabrics can be based on various factors such as texture, surface effect, softness, light reflection, and how the fabric reacts to temperature. Among these, the "burn test" is the most effective and definitive method. Here are the characteristics of different materials when subjected to the burn test:

100% Silk

  • Burns quickly but extinguishes immediately.
  • Leaves ash that smells like burnt hair, crumbles easily, and does not stick to hands.

Silk blended with synthetic fibers

  • Melts rather than burns.
  • Leaves an unpleasant burnt plastic smell and ash that forms clumps and sticks to hands.

The materials used in Folk Form’s products are independently tested at the Textile Testing Center (TTC) under the Vietnam Textile Research Institute.

1.2 How can I use a silk scarf? Which size is suitable for me? How can I style my scarf?

Folk Form offers a variety of sizes for each pattern from 55x55cm to very large sizes such as 110x110cm to meet the diverse needs of customers. Depending on the needs of use, there are the following options:

Size 110x110

  • A large size that exudes elegance and sophistication. Can be worn around the neck for a refined look at formal events. Draped over the shoulders for warmth on autumn evenings or styled as a trendy lightweight jacket. This size can also be tied into a skirt, perfect for vacations or beach outings, adding a feminine and alluring touch.

Size 90x90

  • The most versatile size, suitable for almost all styling needs. Can be worn around the neck to enhance an outfit, tied as a stylish handbag accent, or used as a fashionable hair accessory. Additionally, it can be worn as a wrap skirt for beach trips.

Size 65x65

  • A compact size for those who love a light and delicate touch. Can be worn around the neck for a youthful look, used as a headband, or tied around the wrist as a unique, stylish accessory.

Size 55x55

  • The smallest size, ideal for adding a chic touch. Can be tied onto handbags, used as a simple yet standout hairband, or worn around the wrist as an elegant accessory.
1.3 Are the scarf patterns hand-drawn or digitally designed? How do they compare to other designs on the market?

The scarf patterns are digitally designed to be compatible with handmade screen printing on silk.

Compared to hand-drawn designs and other printing technologies, digitally designed patterns ensure sharp details and intricate elements. When combined with handmade screen printing, the final product features clear details, vibrant colors, and uniform quality on both sides of the fabric— a level of precision that most other printing methods cannot achieve.
