Yellow, green and a farmer's dragon
The Vietnamese dragon began as a river creature of rice-growing villages, and the Ly Dynasty version on these trousers still reads as water, not fire.
Dragon Dreams is drawn from the stone of the imperial citadel in Hanoi, begun in 1010: four dragons turning toward a bodhi leaf, with lotus and fragrant clouds between them. The thunder mark on each forehead is a wish for rain and a good harvest.

Is it real silk?
Yes. 100% mulberry silk, hand-printed in our Hanoi studio.

Why $288
Two wide legs of hand-printed silk is a lot of printing: every color is its own screen and its own pass, done by hand in Hanoi. The print is then matched across the panels of both legs.
Each pair is cut to order in our atelier and posted to you with duty and shipping paid. Made to measure adds 10% to $288.
Will the waist stay comfortable for a long show?
It is elastic, so there is no zip or button to think about after a long evening in a seat.
Will they arrive for the season?
One size: 1 to 3 business days in Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to a US address. Allow up to 18 business days, about three and a half weeks.
Made to measure: add 3 to 5 business days of tailoring before dispatch.
Buy them in spring and they are ready for the concert calendar.
What if they do not fit?
One size: return within 30 days, unworn and unwashed, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is yours, and store credit adds 15%.

Looking after them
Dry cleaning is recommended. Let them air overnight after an evening outdoors.
If you wash them yourself, hand wash them in cold water, never in a machine, and dry them in the shade.
