Graduation, boards or the bar exam behind her?
A dragon is how Vietnamese art marks what someone did.

Our rough rule: dragons for what somebody did, phoenixes for who somebody is. A finished degree, a passed licensing exam, a first offer letter: that is dragon territory.

In pink and turquoise the motif turns light and fresh, easy with denim or a new suit. 100% Grade 5A mulberry silk, 16 momme, printed by hand on both faces, hemmed by hand.

We pay the import duty, not you.

Orders leave Hanoi in 1 to 3 business days and reach a US address in 9 to 15 business days. The 26, 36 and 44 inch ship free; the 22 inch ships for $20.

Why this dragon fits a graduate

At the center of the square sits a bodhi leaf. It comes from the tree where the Buddha reached awakening, and it stands for wisdom. For someone who just spent years studying, that is the right thing to put in the middle.

Four Ly Dynasty dragons turn toward it from the corners. They come from Hoang Thanh Thang Long, the imperial citadel in Hanoi, begun in 1010.

On each forehead is the old character for thunder. In rice country thunder brings rain, and rain brings the harvest. Read that way, the dragon is a wish that the work pays off.

Pink and turquoise keep all this light. It looks like a print she chose herself, not a heritage lesson.

Not sure she wears scarves? The 22 or 26 goes on a bag or in her hair first, which is an easy way to start.

Is it real silk?

Yes, Grade 5A mulberry silk, all of it. An outside lab confirmed it. The Textile Testing Center belongs to the Vietnam Textile Research Institute.

Test it at home with the small silk cutting in the box.

Burn a corner of it over a sink, away from anything flammable, with no children nearby. Silk burns with a smell like burning hair and leaves a soft ash that crushes between your fingers. Polyester melts into a hard bead. It is a home check, not lab proof.

ELLE Vietnam and Harper's Bazaar Vietnam have both covered our studio.

Is a dragon too serious for her?

Not this one. The Ly dragon has no scales and no menace; it is slender, curved like water, and holding a pearl.

For a quieter pattern of the same dragon, look at Dragon Of Grace, drawn small and repeated.

Why $75 to $197

Three things set the price. The hem is hand-rolled, close to an hour per square. Both faces are printed, one screen and one pass per color. And the motif was redrawn from archive sources before any screen existed.

Wear the 26 inch once a week for five years. That is under 40 cents a wear.

The 36 uses nearly twice the silk of the 26, and a longer hand-rolled edge.

We work from our own Hanoi atelier and ship direct. The US import duty is on us.

Will it arrive for the ceremony?

Processing takes 1 to 3 business days. Delivery to the US takes 9 to 15 business days after dispatch.

Graduation season runs from mid-May to mid-June. For a set date, allow up to 18 business days, about three and a half weeks.

Results day or a swearing-in is easier: send it the week the news comes.

Duties and returns

Duties: covered by us. She pays nothing when it arrives.

Returns: 30 days, in the original box, unused, unwashed and unworn. Return postage for a change of mind is paid by you, and store credit comes with an extra 15%.

Who this is right for

A daughter or granddaughter graduating She will wear it to interviews and remember who gave it.

A niece who passed her boards A dragon for the exam she worked so hard to pass.

A friend admitted to the bar Knotted at the neck, it works with a court suit.

A new hire in the family The 26 goes to the office on day one.

How it arrives

Every scarf ships in a rigid gift box with its own bag. The silk is folded in tissue. Inside: a story card and a styling guide with more than 20 ties. There is also a care card and a small silk cutting.

Ordering for her? Ship to her address and bill to yours. Leave your note in Order Notes, and we handwrite it on a card. There is no price inside.

How to care for it

Cold water, shampoo or body wash, no detergent. Every 3 to 5 wears is plenty.

Never wring it. Press out the water and dry it flat, out of the sun. Iron it damp on the lowest silk setting.

More than just a fashion accessory, it embodies the essence of Vietnamese heritage. Each silk thread weaves a millennia-old story, reflecting the brand’s dedication and craftsmanship. A precious gem symbolizing an ancient culture, where tradition and modern creativity converge to create a refined and meaningful beauty.

  • Inspiration Behind The Dragon Dreams

Inspired by thousand-year history of Thăng Long Citadel, "Dragon Dreams" is recreated from the original artifacts such as dragon of Ly Dynasty, the curved rooflines with Xi Van - the Roof guardian of imperial architecture, Bodhi leaves from the flourishing Buddhist era and the iconic lotus pedestal of the 11th-14th centuries… recreating a mystical realm between reality and dream, past and present, where sacred dragons unite on the scarves of our time.

  • The Essence of The Dragon Dreams

"Dragon Dreams" print on silk scarves recreates the Ly Dynasty Dragon in a spiral composition converging toward the Lotus Throne. The border features pairs of Xi Van, ancient roof guardians protecting against fire, enclosing a mystical sky of swirling clouds, bodhi leaves, and lotus flowers. With graceful lines and harmonious colors, these scarves breathe new life into heritage, honoring Vietnamese culture on its journey to the world.

1. Mulberry Silk Products

1.1 Is silk environmentally friendly? How can I distinguish silk from other artificial silk fabrics?

Silk is a completely natural fiber with a production process that does not require the use of chemicals for bleaching or fiber processing. Therefore, silk is not only environmentally friendly but also gentle on the skin.

Distinguishing natural silk from synthetic silk fabrics can be based on various factors such as texture, surface effect, softness, light reflection, and how the fabric reacts to temperature. Among these, the "burn test" is the most effective and definitive method. Here are the characteristics of different materials when subjected to the burn test:

100% Silk

  • Burns quickly but extinguishes immediately.
  • Leaves ash that smells like burnt hair, crumbles easily, and does not stick to hands.

Silk blended with synthetic fibers

  • Melts rather than burns.
  • Leaves an unpleasant burnt plastic smell and ash that forms clumps and sticks to hands.

The materials used in Folk Form’s products are independently tested at the Textile Testing Center (TTC) under the Vietnam Textile Research Institute.

1.2 How can I use a silk scarf? Which size is suitable for me? How can I style my scarf?

Folk Form offers a variety of sizes for each pattern from 55x55cm to very large sizes such as 110x110cm to meet the diverse needs of customers. Depending on the needs of use, there are the following options:

Size 110x110

  • A large size that exudes elegance and sophistication. Can be worn around the neck for a refined look at formal events. Draped over the shoulders for warmth on autumn evenings or styled as a trendy lightweight jacket. This size can also be tied into a skirt, perfect for vacations or beach outings, adding a feminine and alluring touch.

Size 90x90

  • The most versatile size, suitable for almost all styling needs. Can be worn around the neck to enhance an outfit, tied as a stylish handbag accent, or used as a fashionable hair accessory. Additionally, it can be worn as a wrap skirt for beach trips.

Size 65x65

  • A compact size for those who love a light and delicate touch. Can be worn around the neck for a youthful look, used as a headband, or tied around the wrist as a unique, stylish accessory.

Size 55x55

  • The smallest size, ideal for adding a chic touch. Can be tied onto handbags, used as a simple yet standout hairband, or worn around the wrist as an elegant accessory.
1.3 Are the scarf patterns hand-drawn or digitally designed? How do they compare to other designs on the market?

The scarf patterns are digitally designed to be compatible with handmade screen printing on silk.

Compared to hand-drawn designs and other printing technologies, digitally designed patterns ensure sharp details and intricate elements. When combined with handmade screen printing, the final product features clear details, vibrant colors, and uniform quality on both sides of the fabric— a level of precision that most other printing methods cannot achieve.
