He lifts the lid and the whole box glows red, a crimson silk tie with a pale dragon coiled through it and two round cufflinks set beside it.
Crimson jacquard with the Ly Dynasty dragon woven in, and cufflinks to match.

Imagine it handed over at a wedding table or across a desk on a last day before a promotion. The red is deep rather than bright, darker in the folds and lighter where the dragon crosses it, and the silk has a steady weight in the hand. The cufflinks carry the same red weave.

Crimson is a dark, confident red, and the dragon is outlined in pale silver so it reads even at a distance. Tie and cufflinks arrive together in one rigid box.

We pay the import duty, not you.

The dragon that carries rain

The Ly Dynasty dragon belongs to the Hoang Thanh Thang Long citadel in Hanoi, begun in 1010. It is soft where other dragons are fierce.

Its body moves like waves of water, with no scales. Flame crowns the head, and the thunder character is marked on the forehead. For a rice-growing people thunder is the sound of rain coming, so this dragon brings a good harvest.

A dragon stands for strength, wisdom and success. In crimson it suits a man at a milestone: a promotion, a graduation party for his child, a business he is about to open.

The dragon is woven, never printed, so the red and the figure are one cloth. The fold at the knot is silk over silk.

With what he already owns

Charcoal suit The red is the single bright note in the outfit, and the dragon gives it a reason to be there.

Navy suit with a white shirt A classic pairing that looks considered without trying hard.

Black suit, evening Dark red on black reads as formal and a little festive.

Cufflinks and width The cufflinks need double (French) cuffs. The tie is 8 cm, the standard width for almost every lapel.

Is it real silk?

Yes, 100% mulberry silk, woven rather than printed.

The dragon is part of the weave, so no ink sits on the surface of the red.

Why $224

At $224 you get a crimson dragon tie and matching cufflinks. Without the cufflinks the tie is $167, so they are $57 of the set.

Import duty to the US is ours to pay, and the box is part of the price.

Does Dad wear French cuffs?

Look for a cuff that folds back on itself with no buttons. That is a double (French) cuff, and the cufflinks need one.

If his cuffs close with buttons, the tie alone makes the better present. The crimson woven dragon tie is $167.

Will it arrive in time?

For Christmas delivery in the US, we recommend ordering by November 27.

1 to 3 business days to leave Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to a US address.

Allow up to 18 business days, about three and a half weeks, from the day you order.

Duties and returns

Duties: we pay the US import duty, so nothing is owed at the door.

Returns: 30 days, unused, unwashed and unworn, in the original box. If you changed your mind, the return postage is yours. Take store credit instead of a refund and we add 15%.

Sending it to Dad

Enter his address as the shipping address and yours as billing. Write your note in Order Notes and we copy it by hand onto a card. No price travels in the parcel.

From a daughter A red he can wear to her wedding, and a dragon that wishes him well.

For a groom or a groomsman Dark red silk with a figure only close friends will notice at first.

For a milestone A promotion or a retirement dinner, marked with something he can keep.

If the dragon is too bold The Vermilion tie and cufflinks is $191, a plainer weave in the same box.

How to care for it

Stains go to a dry cleaner, never to a sink.

Undo the knot in reverse at the end of the day.

Roll it loosely or hang it so the silk can rest.

Folk Form Silk Jacquard Necktie: Elegance & Sophistication for Every Style

Celebrate the essence of a gentleman with luxurious designs crafted from premium silk jacquard, seamlessly blending artisanal craftsmanship with global standards.

  • Necktie – A Gentleman’s Style Statement

Folk Form proudly presents a product line of handcrafted necktie made from jacquard, woven by 100% mulberry silk fiber. More than just an accessory, a necktie is a statement of style. Each design blends colors, patterns, woven texture and fine craftsmanship to create a distinctive, unmatched elegance. Perfect for every occasion—from the office to grand events—it ensures gentlemen exude sophistication and charm wherever they go.

  • History Of The Necktie

The origin of the necktie is widely debated with traces found in ancient Egypt, Rome and China. Egyptians wore necktie to signify status, Roman soldiers used them for warmth, and Qin Dynasty warriors had silk ones. In the 17th century, Croatian soldiers presented neckties to France, where King Louis XIV popularized them. From there, neckties spread across Europe, evolving into their modern form in the 1920s. October 18 is now celebrated as International Necktie Day.

  • A Symbol Of Sophistication

A necktie is more than just an ordinary fashion accessory—it is a bold symbol of sophistication. With a single necktie, a gentleman can transform his style, from the classic elegance of the 1920s to the refined charm of the 21st century. Rather than following fleeting trends, Folk Form honors minimalism and timeless factors through meticulously crafted neckties—designed not for the masses, but for those who truly understand the essence of luxury.

NEED HELP?

Before you order

When will it arrive?

Every order leaves our Hanoi atelier within 1 to 3 business days. U.S. delivery takes 9 to 15 business days after dispatch, and tracking is emailed the moment it ships. Buying for a date? Email Folkformint@gmail.com right after you order and we will expedite wherever we can.

What does shipping cost? Will I owe import duty?

Shipping is free on orders of $90 or more and a flat $20 below that, shown before you pay. On U.S. orders we pay the import duty, so nothing is owed at your door. If a carrier ever bills you for duty, send us the receipt and we refund it in full.

Is it ready to give?

Yes. A tie needs no size, which makes it the easiest silk gift to get right. It arrives in a rigid gift box with a story card. Add a message at checkout and we write it by hand. There is never a price inside the parcel.

What is it made of?

Every tie is 100% mulberry silk jacquard: the pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed on top, so there is no ink layer to crack at the knot. Each one is made in our Hanoi atelier.

Which width should I choose?

8cm is the classic width and suits almost every lapel. 6cm is slimmer, for narrow lapels and slim-cut suits.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unworn, in its original box. If something is our fault, we pay postage both ways. On U.S. orders under $100 we also offer a gift exchange: if it is not right for him or her, email Folkformint@gmail.com with your order number and we issue store credit for the full price of the piece, and you do not need to send it back. One gift exchange per order and per household. Otherwise, if you changed your mind you cover return postage, and choosing store credit instead of a refund adds 15%.

How do I care for it?

Dry clean only. Untie it by reversing the knot, then hang it or roll it loosely overnight and the creases fall out on their own.
