A family lunch, and he stands at the hallway mirror pulling a pink knot into place.
The Ly Dynasty dragon is woven into the silk.

Pink on a tie suits a calm man. In Vietnamese art the Ly Dynasty dragon is a wish for a good year, and in pale pink the silk warms to coral where the dragon coils.

For a Vietnamese father it is a dragon from home, in the style of the old capital that is now Hanoi. For anyone else it is a handsome pink tie with a story worth telling at the table.

The dragon is woven into 100% mulberry silk as jacquard. 8 cm wide, 145 cm long, made in our Hanoi atelier.

We pay the import duty, not you.

Orders leave Hanoi in 1 to 3 business days, then US delivery takes 9 to 15 business days. This tie alone is above $90, so shipping is free.

The dragon, and why it suits the new year

The Ly Dynasty ruled from Thang Long, today's Hanoi, where the imperial citadel was begun in 1010. Its dragon looks nothing like the fierce creature most people picture.

Ly artists drew it without scales, with a body that curves like a river. A flame crest rises from the nose. On the forehead sits an S-shaped mark, the old character for thunder. In a rice-growing country thunder means rain, and rain means the harvest.

Here the dragon is woven in coral and dusty rose over a pale blush ground, with small checks running underneath. The sheen lifts the pink in bright light and settles it in the shade. It reads as a wish for a good year, not a show of power.

How he will wear it

Navy or charcoal suit Pink against navy for the family gathering, the temple visit or the banquet.

White shirt Lets the pink and the woven dragon carry the outfit.

Family celebrations Weddings, birthdays and banquets through the rest of the year.

Width 8 cm, the standard width for almost every lapel.

Is it real silk?

Folk Form Silk Jacquard Necktie: Elegance & Sophistication for Every Style

Celebrate the essence of a gentleman with luxurious designs crafted from premium silk jacquard, seamlessly blending artisanal craftsmanship with global standards.

  • Necktie – A Gentleman’s Style Statement

Folk Form proudly presents a product line of handcrafted necktie made from jacquard, woven by 100% mulberry silk fiber. More than just an accessory, a necktie is a statement of style. Each design blends colors, patterns, woven texture and fine craftsmanship to create a distinctive, unmatched elegance. Perfect for every occasion—from the office to grand events—it ensures gentlemen exude sophistication and charm wherever they go.

  • History Of The Necktie

The origin of the necktie is widely debated with traces found in ancient Egypt, Rome and China. Egyptians wore necktie to signify status, Roman soldiers used them for warmth, and Qin Dynasty warriors had silk ones. In the 17th century, Croatian soldiers presented neckties to France, where King Louis XIV popularized them. From there, neckties spread across Europe, evolving into their modern form in the 1920s. October 18 is now celebrated as International Necktie Day.

  • A Symbol Of Sophistication

A necktie is more than just an ordinary fashion accessory—it is a bold symbol of sophistication. With a single necktie, a gentleman can transform his style, from the classic elegance of the 1920s to the refined charm of the 21st century. Rather than following fleeting trends, Folk Form honors minimalism and timeless factors through meticulously crafted neckties—designed not for the masses, but for those who truly understand the essence of luxury.

NEED HELP?

Before you order

When will it arrive?

Every order leaves our Hanoi atelier within 1 to 3 business days. U.S. delivery takes 9 to 15 business days after dispatch, and tracking is emailed the moment it ships. Buying for a date? Email Folkformint@gmail.com right after you order and we will expedite wherever we can.

What does shipping cost? Will I owe import duty?

Shipping is free on orders of $90 or more and a flat $20 below that, shown before you pay. On U.S. orders we pay the import duty, so nothing is owed at your door. If a carrier ever bills you for duty, send us the receipt and we refund it in full.

Is it ready to give?

Yes. A tie needs no size, which makes it the easiest silk gift to get right. It arrives in a rigid gift box with a story card. Add a message at checkout and we write it by hand. There is never a price inside the parcel.

What is it made of?

Every tie is 100% mulberry silk jacquard: the pattern is woven into the cloth rather than printed on top, so there is no ink layer to crack at the knot. Each one is made in our Hanoi atelier.

Which width should I choose?

8cm is the classic width and suits almost every lapel. 6cm is slimmer, for narrow lapels and slim-cut suits.

Can I return it?

Yes, within 30 days of delivery, unworn, in its original box. If something is our fault, we pay postage both ways. On U.S. orders under $100 we also offer a gift exchange: if it is not right for him or her, email Folkformint@gmail.com with your order number and we issue store credit for the full price of the piece, and you do not need to send it back. One gift exchange per order and per household. Otherwise, if you changed your mind you cover return postage, and choosing store credit instead of a refund adds 15%.

How do I care for it?

Dry clean only. Untie it by reversing the knot, then hang it or roll it loosely overnight and the creases fall out on their own.
