A dragon that wishes everyone a good year
At the turn of the year, wishing people well is half the point. Dragon Dreams carries a wish of its own: the S-shaped mark on the forehead is the ancient character for thunder, and thunder brought the rain that brought the rice harvest.
The drawing comes from the stone dragons of Hoang Thanh Thang Long, the imperial citadel in Hanoi begun in 1010. Ly Dynasty dragons have no scales and three claws, with a pearl at the mouth and a crest of flame at the nose.
In the Lotus Sutra the dragon offers her pearl instead of guarding it. A dragon holding a pearl is about to give it away, which makes it a fitting print for the season of giving.

Is it real silk?
Yes, 100% mulberry silk, printed by hand in Hanoi like our scarves.

Why $288
A wide leg uses a lot of silk, and every panel of it is printed by hand, one color and one screen at a time. The print is then matched across the panels of each leg.
The pants are cut to order in our Hanoi atelier and shipped direct. $288 includes US shipping and import duty; made to measure adds 10%.
Is red too much?
With black on top, red trousers look deliberate rather than loud.
If you want the same dragon quieter, the navy palazzo pants are the calmer choice.
Will they arrive before the parties start?
One size: 1 to 3 business days in Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to a US address. Allow up to 18 business days, about three and a half weeks.
Made to measure: add 3 to 5 business days of tailoring before dispatch.
For Christmas delivery in the US, we recommend ordering by November 27.
What if they do not fit?
One size: return within 30 days, unworn and unwashed, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is yours, and store credit adds 15%.
Made to measure: outside the 30-day return, and one complimentary alteration is included instead.

How to care for silk trousers
Dry cleaning is recommended. Point out any spill when you drop them off.
If you wash them yourself, hand wash them in cold water, never in a machine, and dry them in the shade.
