Your mother never owned a beige coat.
She will know what to do with orange and green.

Some mothers dress quietly. Yours wears color and always has. This is our Dragon Dreams scarf in orange with dark green, for the woman who would be disappointed by navy.

The set holds one 26 inch square in 100% Grade 5A mulberry silk, printed by hand on both faces, with a hand-rolled edge. At 26 inches it works as well in her hair as at her neck.

The dragon she is getting

Forget the fierce dragons of Western legend. The design comes from Ly Dynasty stonework at the imperial citadel in Hanoi, begun in 1010, and its dragons have no scales, three claws and a body that winds like a river.

Each one carries a pearl at its mouth and a crest of flame behind its head. The pearl is the point: in the Lotus Sutra, the dragon hands it over rather than guarding it.

The scarf's own story puts it simply: strength wrapped in gentleness, like a mother who protects, guides and nurtures. For a mother who has always been the brightest color in the room, it fits.

With what she already wears

With camel and cream Orange and dark green sit well against a camel coat or a cream sweater.

With denim Knotted at the neck of a chambray shirt, or tied around the handle of a brown bag.

In her hair As a headband or a ponytail wrap.

With black The contrast is strong. Fold it narrow and less of the orange shows.

Is the set different from the scarf alone?

The set is this 26 inch Dragon Dreams square in orange and dark green, in a gift box, for $97. The same design, colorway and size is also sold on its own at the same price.

Choose the set when it is a present for her and you want it chosen, boxed and ready to send in one step.

How do I know it is real silk?

100% Grade 5A mulberry silk, 16 momme. The Textile Testing Center of the Vietnam Textile Research Institute did the testing.

A small cutting of the same silk comes in the box. Burn a thread over a sink, away from anything flammable: silk smells like burning hair and leaves a soft ash, polyester melts into a hard bead. It is a home check, not lab proof.

ELLE Vietnam and Harper's Bazaar Vietnam have both covered our studio.

Why $97

The hem is rolled and stitched by hand. That alone takes close to an hour.

Both faces are printed, separately, one screen per color. The dragon was redrawn by hand from archive photographs before any screen was made. It is all done in our Hanoi atelier and sent straight to her, duty paid. Worn weekly for five years, it costs under 40 cents a wear.

Will it arrive for her birthday?

Dispatch: 1 to 3 business days. Delivery: 9 to 15 business days to a US address.

For a birthday or Mother's Day, order 18 business days ahead, roughly three and a half weeks. For Christmas delivery in the US, we recommend ordering by November 27.

Duties and returns

Duties: Folk Form pays the US import duty. She owes nothing on delivery.

Returns: 30 days, unused and unwashed, in the original box. Change-of-mind postage is yours; store credit adds 15%.

What arrives

Every Folk Form scarf comes packed this way: a rigid box with a matching bag, the scarf in tissue, a story card naming the motif and dynasty, an illustrated styling guide, a care card and a small silk cutting.

Sending it to her Her address goes in shipping, yours in billing.

Your words, by hand Type your message in Order Notes. We write it on a card.

No price inside The parcel does not show what you paid.

How to care for it

After 3 to 5 wears, wash it in cold water.

Use shampoo or body wash instead of detergent. Press the water out, do not twist. Let it dry out of the sun. Iron at the lowest silk setting while slightly damp. The care card in the box says the same.
