For the mother you cannot be with on the day.
A red silk scarf, boxed and sent straight to her door.

She has told you for years not to spend money on her. That is why this works: it is the thing she would never buy for herself, and it arrives in a box she does not have to wrap or explain.

The set holds one 26 inch square of Dragon Dreams in red: 100% Grade 5A mulberry silk, printed by hand on both faces, with the edge rolled and stitched by hand. Your note goes in, written by hand.

Why a dragon for a mother

The dragon on this scarf comes from the stone of Hoang Thanh Thang Long, the imperial citadel in Hanoi begun in 1010. Ly Dynasty dragons are gentle animals: no scales, a body that bends like water, and a pearl held at the mouth.

In the Lotus Sutra, the source of that pearl, the dragon gives it away. That is the idea behind this set: strength that protects and gives, wrapped in gentleness.

Bodhi leaves and fragrance clouds fill the space around the dragons. The story card in the box names the motif and its dynasty, so the meaning reaches her even when you are not there to explain it.

How she might wear the 26 inch

At the neck Folded to a band and knotted small, over a plain top or inside a coat collar.

In her hair As a headband or a ponytail wrap. At 26 inches it handles hair as easily as a neck knot.

On her bag Rolled around the handle, for days she wants the color without wearing it.

If she wants more For a full head wrap or cover over her shoulders, the 36 inch in red is the better size, at $153.

Is this different from buying the scarf alone?

The scarf in this set is our red 26 inch Dragon Dreams square, which is also sold on its own at the same $97. Choose the set when the gift is for your mother and you want the size, color and presentation decided in one step.

Is it real silk?

Yes, 100% Grade 5A mulberry silk at 16 momme, tested at the Textile Testing Center of the Vietnam Textile Research Institute. A small cutting of silk comes in the box so she, or you, can test it: burned over a sink, away from anything flammable, silk smells like burning hair and leaves a soft ash, while polyester melts into a hard bead. It is a home check, not lab proof.

ELLE Vietnam and Harper's Bazaar Vietnam have both covered our studio.

Why $97

The hem alone takes close to an hour, rolled and stitched by hand. Both faces of the silk are printed separately, a screen and a pass for each color, from a motif our studio redrew by hand from archive photographs.

Every step happens in our Hanoi atelier, and the parcel comes straight from there with the US import duty paid. Worn once a week for five years, a 26 inch scarf works out to under 40 cents a wear.

Will it arrive for Mother's Day or her birthday?

1 to 3 business days before it leaves Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to her address.

Mother's Day is the second Sunday of May. Order at least 18 business days ahead, about three and a half weeks.

Duties and returns

Duties: Folk Form pays the US import duty. She will not be asked for anything at the door.

Returns: 30 days, unused and unwashed, in the original box. For a change of mind the return postage is yours, and store credit adds 15%.

What she opens

Like every Folk Form scarf, it comes in a rigid gift box with a matching bag. Inside, the scarf rests in tissue with a story card that names the motif and its dynasty, an illustrated styling guide, a care card, and a small cutting of silk.

Sending it to her Put her address in shipping and yours in billing. Write your message in Order Notes and we copy it by hand onto a card.

No price inside There is no price anywhere in the parcel.

To complete it A red silk-wrapped necklace at $75 is the natural second piece.

How she should care for it

Every 3 to 5 wears, wash in cold water with shampoo or body wash, not detergent.

Squeeze, never wring, dry in the shade, and iron on the lowest silk setting while faintly damp. A care card in the box says the same.

Worn with Ease

Folk Form pieces are chosen and styled in everyday life across different settings, styles, and moments. Each image reflects how silk moves naturally with the wearer, adapting quietly rather than demanding attention.

Prepared with Care

Every Folk Form gift is assembled with attention to detail from the way each piece is folded and placed, to the final presentation of the box.

This process reflects the same values as the product itself: restraint, balance, and care in execution.

A Vietnamese Craft Voice, Recognised Globally

Folk Form’s work has been highlighted by fashion and cultural publications for its thoughtful interpretation of heritage in a contemporary context.
