A bird whose song meant harmony
In Vietnamese tradition the phoenix's song brings harmony and prosperity, and its feathers stand for the five elements: metal, wood, water, fire and earth.
Phoenix Dance takes the bird from Ly and Tran Dynasty temple carving, in flight through cloud with a pearl. It is the empress's bird, the partner to the dragon.
On purple, the drawing looks rich enough for an evening out, which suits a night built around music.

Behind the price: a wide-leg pair in 100% mulberry silk, printed entirely by hand, each color through its own screen.
The phoenix is matched from panel to panel before the pair is cut to order and sewn in our Hanoi atelier. We ship it direct and cover the import duty, so $289 is what it costs.
Will they arrive before the performance?
Standard size: 1 to 3 business days before dispatch from Hanoi, 9 to 15 business days of delivery. About three and a half weeks in all.
Made to measure: 3 to 5 business days extra.
What if it is not right?
Standard size: you have 30 days to send it back, unworn, unwashed and in its original box. If you changed your mind, the return postage is yours. Choose store credit and we add 15%.
Made to measure: not covered by the 30-day return. One alteration is included, free.
