By June a teacher has a drawer full of mugs and candles. A necklace is a different kind of thank-you: modest enough to be right from a parent, and made carefully enough that she can tell somebody chose it.
There is no clasp. The 44-inch loop goes on over the head, so it suits the teacher who dresses up for class and the one who teaches in sneakers.

It is sent from Hanoi within 1 to 3 business days and arrives 9 to 15 business days after that. One necklace ships for a flat $20. Two necklaces for two teachers come to $128 and ship free.
Why yellow makes a good thank-you
Yellow sits close to one of the colors our palette is built on: the golden glaze on the roof tiles of the imperial buildings. It is warm and cheerful, and it carries no romantic message, which is what a thank-you from a family needs.
Plain silk means one color all the way round. There is no print to love or dislike, which helps when all you know of her taste is what she wears to school.
Most teachers work in navy, gray, black, white and denim. Against any of those, a yellow strand is the one bright note, and it reads as friendly rather than formal.
How she can wear it
Long Straight over the head, on a cardigan or a plain T-shirt. The easy way, and the one most people keep.

Is it real silk?
Yes, mulberry silk in solid yellow, wrapped by hand around each wooden bead and knotted onto the cord.

Why $64
You are paying for hand work. Each of about 180 beads is covered in silk and closed by hand, then knotted into place. There is no gold, silver or stone in it.
Our printed necklaces are $75. The difference is the screen printing, one color at a time, done before any bead is wrapped. Plain silk skips the press.
Both kinds come from our Hanoi atelier, and yours ships from there.
Will it arrive in time?
1 to 3 business days for us to pack and send it, 9 to 15 business days for the trip to her.
For the last week of school, or Teacher Appreciation Week in early May, order at least 18 business days ahead.
Duties and returns
Duties: Folk Form pays the US import duty. Nothing is owed at the door.
Returns: 30 days, unused and unworn, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is paid by you. Take store credit and we add 15%.
Sending it to a teacher
Send it to her home or to the school: her address in shipping, yours in billing. Put your note in Order Notes and we write it by hand on a card. It comes in a gift box, and nothing in the parcel shows a price.
