An evening wedding invitation says little about what to wear, and a floor-length dress settles the question before you open the closet. This one is cut from 100% mulberry silk with no waist seam, so it falls straight from the shoulder and nothing pulls when the dancing starts.
The print is Dragon of Grace on a red ground: small Ly Dynasty dragons repeated in symmetry and printed by hand. From across the room it reads as rich color and texture. At the table, people see the drawing.

Eight dragons, and every one is giving something
Dragon of Grace, in Vietnamese May Hoa Long An, sets eight Ly Dynasty dragons around a center. Each one holds out a bodhi leaf or a lotus. They are offering, not guarding.
The image comes from the Lotus Sutra, where a dragon's daughter gives her pearl to the Buddha. The pearl stands for wisdom and compassion. "An" in the name means grace that is granted, not power that is held.
A generous picture to wear to somebody else's wedding. The dragons are small and evenly spread, so the dress looks worked and finished rather than themed.

Once your measurements are confirmed, we send a secure link for the 10% made-to-measure surcharge. The standard cut drapes loosely on a bust up to 37 in / 94 cm. There is no waist seam, so it skims the body rather than fitting close.

Is it real silk?
Yes, 100% mulberry silk. The dress is made from the same hand-printed silk we sell as scarves.

Why $386
A floor-length dress uses a lot of silk, and every panel here is hand screen-printed, one screen and one pass for each color. The panels are then laid out so the print meets cleanly across the seams.
It is cut to order and sewn in our own Hanoi atelier, then posted to you with the US import duty paid by us. $386 is the whole price. Made to measure adds 10%.
Will it arrive before the wedding?
Standard size: 1 to 3 business days to leave Hanoi, then 9 to 15 business days to a US address. Order at least 18 business days ahead, about three and a half weeks.
Made to measure: allow 3 to 5 more business days for tailoring.
What if it does not fit?
Standard size: return it within 30 days, unworn and unwashed, in the original box. Change-of-mind return postage is yours, and store credit adds 15%.
Made to measure: outside the 30-day return, with one complimentary alteration included instead.

How to care for it
We recommend dry cleaning. Mention that it is silk.
If you wash it yourself, hand wash it cold. Never use a machine. Dry it out of direct sun.
